One explanation could be the fact that borrowing costs have climbed since the end of last year, making housing less affordable, especially for first-time b爱上海同城 爱上海uyers. The national rate for a 30-year mortgage is at a seven-year high at an average of 4.61 percent, according to Freddie Mac. That’s up from last year’s low of 3.78 percent in September. UPDATED, 9:56 a.m., Sept. 18: A seven-alarm fire engulfed a parking garage爱上海同城论坛 爱上海同城 at Macerich s Kings Plaza Shopping Center in Brooklyn on Monday morning, leaving almost two dozen people hurt.

A call on the fire in the garage at Avenue U and Flatbush Avenue came in just before 9 a.m. on Monday, and the fire had become a seven-alarm inferno by 11:15 a.m., according to NBC. By noon, firefighters had the blaze under control.

A total of 21 people —上海夜网 阿爱上海同城 including 18 firefigh上海龙凤论坛sh1f 上海龙凤论坛ters — were hurt in the blaze, but none of the injuries were life threatening, and the garage is not in danger of collapsing, according to NBC.

More than 100 vehicles caught fire, and police have arrested 23-year-old suspect Avon Stephens for arson. His possible motive is unclear.

The plaza has been closed, although the fire did not spread to any stores.

There are more than 120 stores in Kings Plaza Shopping Center, and Burlington Coat Factory signed a 55,000-square-foot lease for the building at the end of last year.

Atlas Capital buys Morningside Heights resi building for $72M Company purchased property from hotelier Richard Born

Hotelier Richard Born is selling a Morningside Heights building to Atlas Capital Group for $72.2 million in an all-cash transaction, according to sources familiar with the deal.

Atlas is buying the residential building at 601 West 110th Street from Born, which is currently used both by private tenants and by Barnard College as a dormitory. Barnard students make up 183 of the building’s 500 overall residents, according to the college’s website.

Born sai爱上海同城论坛 爱上海同城d the property had been in his family for more than 60 years, and he no longer saw it as a core part of the business given that he is now more focused on hotels.

Aaron Jungreis of Rosewood Realty brokered the deal. He declined to comment on the transaction, and Atlas did not respond to a request for comment.

Atlas teamed up with Partners Group earlier this year to purchase Long Island City’s Factory Building for $400 million, the largest deal in Queens during the second quarter by a wide margin. The firm also recently sold 23-30 Borden Avenue in Long Island City to Andrew Chung’s Innovo Property Group for about $75 million and a commercial condo unit at 42 Crosby Street in Soho to Premier Equities for $14.3 million.

Other recent property trades in and around Morningside Heights include Riverside Church’s purchase of 97-101 Claremont Avenue from the Union Theological Seminary for $46.5 million and the Orbach Group’s sale of five buildings on West 108th Street and Manhattan Avenue for $57 million.

On Wednesday morning, an unexpected email hit the inboxes of New York media reporters. It said that Bo Dietl, the private eye and former mayoral hopeful, had created a MeToo上海贵族宝贝交流区 上海贵族宝贝论坛 investigative platform that would allow employees to report sexual misconduct and harassment. The email also said that Douglas Elliman was a client, and there would be a joint press conference on Thursday featuring Dietl and two top staffers at Elliman.

There was one significant problem: Elliman employees were totally blindsided, a person familiar with the situation told The Real Deal on Thursday.

The brokerage never had and never will engage in such a platform, the person said.

On Thursday, Dietl also backed down on the company s participation.

If they choose not to have a statement that they are involved with me in any way, I respect that, he said on Thursday. I apologize to Howard Lorber and Douglas Elliman. He went on to say that he would not confirm or deny the identity of his clients. (On Wednesday, he told The Real Deal that Elliman was a client but hadn t wanted to talk about it publicly.)

Dietl blamed his public relations firm, Ronn Torossian s 5W PR, for an invitation that referred to Elliman as the first corporate client of the platform. He also said the invitation falsely stated that Elliman s general counsel and vice president of human resources would be featured speakers at the event. 5W hasn t commented on what happened.

The press conference — which was slated for Thursday morning — was canceled on Wednesday just a few hours after the firm sent out the invitation. According to 5W, it was canceled due to inclement weather.

Dietl said his firm is now hosting the press conference on March 6 and has invited the city s top builders, real estate investment trusts and other companies to attend. Elliman won t participate, sources said.

The announcement yesterday was surprising for several reasons. Real estate companies — and corporations in general — don t typically advertise their human resources practices. Additionally, Dietl has repeatedly been linked to investigations involving Roger Ailes — the Wall Street Journal reported in 2017 that Fox hir爱上海同城手机版 新爱上海同城对对碰论坛ed Dietl to discredit two of Ailes accusers.

He said the platform would help curb legal action against corporations by providing an independent avenue for employees to file complaints of misconduct or harassment. He added that his system could help remediate situations before something happens that s really bad.

Clausen’s listing is the most expensive currently available in the building, and will have to compete with other active sales. An apartment with the same square footage on the 42nd floor of the luxury tower is currently listed at $18.9 million.

Last year, Japanese real estate billionaire Katsumi Tada sold his 6,360 square feet apartment at the building for $25 million, down from the $26 million he paid for it in 2008. He initially listed the apartment for $40 million but cut the price multiple times.

In October, it was revealed that investors at Trump hotels in New York and Chicago were facing losses. Between 2015 and 2017, revenue at the Trump International Hotel and Tower in New York fell from $34.4 million to $30.9 million — a 14 percent decline after adjusting for inflation, the Washington Post reported.
